{our week in pictures}

When the week begins with one of your children throwing up, there's no telling how the rest of the week is going to turn out. Fortunately, Emma was only sick Monday and spent Tuesday resting and recuperating. (and thankfully, the rest of us didn't catch that nasty stomach virus!)

We had a pretty eventful week with Faith Formation classes, our FPU class, open house at school, and date night. Not to mention helping with homework, projects, and catching Emma up on missed work.

Sunday night we grilled out and my brother in-law came over for dinner, along with some of our very good friends who were in town for a soccer tournament. It was a little chilly and a perfect night to sit by the fire pit.

Emma and Bailey had fun playing together.

Then, late Sunday night/early Monday morning my girl got s.i.c.k!!

She was feeling better by Tuesday afternoon.

Max was chosen as student of the week and got to write about something special to him.
 He chose his stuffed doggy. It says: Hello! My name is Max. I love doge. I sleep with him every night, but he is a stuf aumal." He drew himself sleeping, those are Zzzzz's going up the page.  He was so excited to read this to his friends and share doggy. So proud of my smart little guy. He is writing so well and reading books on a level F which is middle of first grade level! Wow!!

Emma worked on her President's Day project and had to do a poster and report on the 17th president  Andrew Johnson. She did it herself with a little help from Daddy while I was at Open House on Thursday night.

One of my first graders wrote this in her work on writing notebook on Friday. It made my day! My class was on their best behavior this week. That made my whole week!

Emma and her friend Rylee were being so silly after school on Friday!

I came home and was ready for a date night out with my handsome hubby!

My sister kept the kids overnight, so here we are when we dropped them off.

We went to dinner at Bonefish Grill. (It was a Friday during Lent!!) We had a few drinks and a delicious dinner. We were going to see a movie but we got a late start and I didn't think I could stay awake for a 9:40 movie. I know...party animals!

Yesterday, I took advantage of the kids being with their cousins and while Damian was at work in the morning,  I cleaned my house; dusted, swept, mopped, vacuumed, did 3 loads of laundry, changed sheets, cleaned bathrooms-including tubs and showers, and tidied up bedrooms. I got so much accomplished in an hour. It felt great! I picked up the kids and we ran a couple of errands. We came home, made lunch, relaxed at home, the kids played outside for a couple of hours, then played some games, and grilled chicken and steak kabobs. Emma was a big help prepping dinner.

Max beat me at Scrabble Alphabet Scoop but I redeemed myself during the card game Spoons.

I have been wanting to put a cross wall somewhere in my living room, but didn't really know where to begin. While I was out shopping, I saw this wall hanging for 70% off. I love it!

After I hung this up, I rearranged a few things and added my green burlap wreath to my old barn window. I made this wreath and a yarn wreath with some fabric flowers for my shelf above our tv on Tuesday while Emma was sleeping. I think they turned out pretty well. I also attempted to make a St. Patrick's Day craft. I wrote the word Lucky with white paint on green burlap and made a few shamrocks and framed them in a black frame. I'm still deciding if I like it. I think if I painted my frame white or maybe yellow, I would like it better.

We are getting ready to head to Mass. Kind of a late start, I prefer 8 a.m. mass with the rest of my family, or even 10 a.m. but Damian had to work and just got home. So noon mass it is! We don't have too much planned, a couple of little projects around the house, and hitting the outlet and sports stores looking for cleats fot our little soccer players. We ordered uniforms this past week and they can hardly wait to start practice. Here's to a another great week!
