Emma had the best time with her cousins and friends. She told me this was her best birthday yet. I was exhausted on Saturday but it was worth it! We had a family party on Saturday, a football watching party for our Gators(it was a brutal game), and went to Epcot and the Magic Kingdom today after church.

It was a beautiful weekend celebrating our eight year old. It's still hard for me to believe she is 8!
I remember being pregnant and welcoming her to the world like it was yesterday!

Pumpkin Patch Fun

Last weekend we met up with my family(my parents, brother and his family, sister and her family) and headed to a local pumpkin patch. The kids had fun checking out the pumpkins and chose a small one for themselves. Our church sold them too so we bought big ones there on Sunday.

Seven Year Old Saturday

It's hard for me to believe that one week from today this sweet baby girl will be 8 YEARS OLD!!!!

It feels like yesterday when I was hugely pregnant and we were anxiously awaiting her arrival. I had no idea what to expect. I had two false alarms and headed to the hospital to get checked out. I was off work the week before she came and I would sit and imagine what my little Emma Alyse would be like.  It turns out my water broke the morning of my due date, October 27th and this sweet angel arrived late in the evening. She has made being a mommy an easy and enjoyable job. She was always a good eater, sleeper, and just a smart, happy baby, infant, toddler, and big girl. She's intelligent, a hard worker, compassionate,  and makes me proud every single day. She is such an awesome big sister and leads the pack of her girl cousins. They look up to her and often "fight" over who is sitting by Emma!!  It brings a tear to my eye to think of the past 8 years and to think that she will be driving by the time 8 more years roll around. Although these days she calls me mom and is gaining her independence, I hope she always knows how much her mommy loves her and how blessed my life is because of her!!

first game

I signed Max up for basketball last week. He had his first game on Saturday and had a blast! Because I signed him up a little late he didn't have a jersey for the game but he was happy to play and did a great job.
I was pretty impressed with his skills. I really wasn't sure what to expect and my little guy surprised me! He was trying to dribble,(most of the 4/5 yr olds just run with the ball), he passed the ball, made a few shots and was keeping up with the game.
A little practice shot before the game.

 His biggest fans!!
(Damian already had a fishing morning planned so he was sad to miss Max's first game. I sent him play by play texts and pics to keep him updated.)

I'm so proud of my little basketball player!

Our Weekend

This weekend has been a good one for our family...
Yesterday, the kids and I met my mom and sister at the
Celebration yard sales(I scored a few good deals on clothes for the kids), had lunch at
Chik-fi1-a, and then did a little shopping at Joann's craft store. We came home and D and I began operation clean the garage. We finished that up and it looks so much better. We still have a little work to do and some shelving to buy, but there is a huge improvement. We made some chicken tacos(I tried to talk Damian into letting me make a bunch of appetizers but he didn't think that was a great idea), and settled down to watch our Florida Gators beat LSU. It was a great game! We are taking the kids to their first Gator game next month and I can't wait. Today I took the kids to church bright and early at 8 am with the rest of my family while Damian had to work. They love seeing all of their cousins(and so do I). After church we headed home to change and D got off a little earlier than expected so we decided to take the kids to Downtown Disney. We wanted to go to the parks but it's still a little hot and I'd rather go on a Saturday than a Sunday because you need a day to recuperate after walking the theme parks. At least I do! :)
My dad told me that they put in a Phineas and Ferb interactive exhibit and we knew Max and Emma would love it!
These two holding hands while we were walking...so sweet!
 We loved seeing these topiaries!!

Of course, while we were at Downtown Disney we had to stop at Ghiradelli for an afternoon treat. Emma was in her chocolate heaven!
 I love my sweeties!
 First, a silly picture...
 Then, a sweet one!
 Emma loved her free sample!
Getting squirted by water outside the World of Disney store!
One of the janitors was drawing Minnie with a broom and water. We all got a kick out of it and just proves that there is no other place like Walt Disney World! :)

After Emma was in chocolate heaven, Max entered Lego heaven! Love that he is sticking his tongue out concentrating so hard!

 Ready to race his car!

After we left we all went grocery shopping and came home to relax before another busy week begins! Max and Damian took naps and Emma did crafts, while I folded a large amount of laundry. I'm still waiting on it to put itself away!
