Seven Year Old Saturday: My Helper

Emma has been so helpful lately. She's been doing things without me even asking or reminding her they need to be done. She puts her clothes in the hamper, makes her bed, picks up her room, showers, and brushes her teeth. It sure makes our day so much easier and lightens the load for mommy! I am loving her independence! She's also been helping around the house by unloading the dishwasher, putting clean laundry away, dusting, and vacuuming. She's been pretty good about keeping her room and bathroom clean and helping her messy brother pick up too!
The best thing is she enjoys helping. I hope it stays that way for awhile!

Here are some pictures from last weekend with her best cousin forever...
Hannah and new baby cousin Abigail.

Admiring our sweet girl!

Jumping in!

We are planning her 8th birthday party spa sleepover extravaganza!!! It's going to be so fun!

Five Year Old Friday

This little guy can always be found with a sword stuck in the back of his shirt and his newest accessories...drumsticks! My house is definitely not very quiet these days. Speaking of quiet, Max is working on using an inside voice in his kindergarten class(and home). He also likes to answer every question and sometimes forgets to raise his hand. We're working on that self-control.
Oh, to be five and "know everything""!!!
Last weekend, we went to my brother and sister in-law's house to celebrate family birthdays. Max got in the pool and started swimming away. He was doing such a fantastic job. He has been using floaties for awhile now and hasn't been very confident swimming on his own. This past weekend, he decided to go full force and told everyone to watch him. It was too cute and we were so proud!

Bring on the noise!

It just got a whole lot noisier in our house!
Damian stopped by his brother's house this afternoon and he gave Max our nephew's old drum set. The kids had the best time playing and singing together! Damian and I may or may not have been shouting at each other in the family room.

I happened to look at the sky tonight and saw a big, full moon. That explains A LOT about my day with my first graders! I must have repeated myself 5,235 times today!
We are ready for the weekend over here!!
